This is potentially very bad.


In other news, only 2 classes and 4 exams to go. i absolutely cannot wait. It's a weird feeling that I won't be packing up a dorm room and heading home but it's definitely a good feeling as well because packing sucks. No, packing's ok, it's the moving of packaged up things that sucks. Yup.

I just want to gross you all out and tell you what I did in Genetica Lab today. It was clean up and turn in a ton of work day actually, fun fun. So there were various jobs to do like cleaning the centrifuge tubes, washing out the hoods and then the job I got with my group: cleaning out the fly containers. Ew. This was a very smelly job because many of the fly containers had tons of dead flies in them. Some of them were still moist while others were all crusty. Some of them had live flies and guess what we got to do with those....let them go! No, no...We got to microwave them to kill them and let me tell you, this did not help the smell. EW! I don't often get grossed out but ewe ewe we w ewew!

I now want to comment on a few jackasses in my Ornithology class. They are loud and talk during the whole class and make bad jokes and mock the people who answer questions. It's one thing to be like me and just sit there and not participate but quietly take notes but they are just rude and if I had been the teacher I would have yelled at them...or given them Fs which I guess can still happen.

I had this realization driving home today, past the bars on Main and Floyd, that maybe I've been going about this all wrong. I mean, Sure for now it's about having fun but there comes a time when what's happening now just is not going to cut it. Don't get me wrong, having fun is always important but as I told my fellow lifeguard today that "I'm 23" I heard how old it really sounds and it totally freaked me out. I had a conversation like this with Johanna the other day. But then again I had one with my mom last nite where she told me about when my aunt got engaged when she was 18 and they've been married ever since. That may just freak me out more.

Ok, So I have a "lack of sleep" headache. I left Bealeton at 7am this morning and then was almost late to Genetics Lab so I had to park on campus, Then I had to skip Ornithology bc I had stuff in my trunk that needed to go in the fridge. Now I'm about to go to BioTech and then I'm going to cram for an hour for my lab practical...THen I'll go fail that practical and then go home I hope. Actually, I then might go to the bank. Hmmm, good idea. Later I plan on going and swimming at Riverside because I have to take my days off requests in. 30 April-FOO FIGHTERS! I'm so excited. My parents let us listen to the new CD the whole way to my grandmothers, awesome. I said, "dad you can turn it down if you want" and he turned it up, rock and roll.
I really don't want to fail this test but well, it's going to happen. Unless he asks the few I know over and over. Hmmm, not so likely.

6:00am- My alarm went off and I reset it for 20 minutes later
6:20am- I got up and got dressed
6:40am- Left for work and stopped at 7-11 for a Dr. Pepper and of all things, Doritos (for breakfast!?)
7:02am- Got to work and did all the opening duties and then sat there and watched 1 guy swim
7:10am- Decided the one guy was not going to drown so I read my Photography magazine
7:50am- Moved the lane lines over for water aerobics
8:00am- The Masters team got there and proceeded to move the lane lines back!
9:00am - Masters team left
10:00am- Pothead Lifeguard got there and talked to me about acid for awhile
11:00am- I left and came to the VCU library
11:20am- Checked my email and talked a little on IM
12:00pm- Went home and watched 8 Mile
1:00pm- Vanessa called so I paused 8 mile and talked to her for almost an hour
1:45pm- Started making Rice-a-roni (Spanish Rice)
2:00pm- My dad called
2:15pm- Ate Rice-a-roni and finished 8 Mile
3:00pm- Took a shower
3:30pm- Jules called and I talked to her for awhile
3:45pm- Got dressed and ready and left

I've been doing this a lot lately...I have work to do but I don't feel pressure to do it until it's so incredibly late. I got a B on that lab report though for BioTech I did the nite before. And for this Genetics stuff, I don't think he even reads it. I just have to finish and then go sleep. I'm so tired. I feel like I'm always tired. I'm ready for a nap but it's bed time. Tomorrow I'm done at 12, then I'm sleeping til work. Then just one more day of getting up too early. Oh and Saturday, I work at 7AM again. Remind me not to stay out as late this time. I have a lead on something to do that nite though, I hope it works out. It's something overdue and with people I should have been hanging out with more. We'll see. It should be interesting how I manage to do my socializing in the near future. Not really because of certain time issues or availability but more because I don't want to get stuck doing something I dont want to be doing and I also have to keep quiet on some things. My dad today said something like, "Are you going to try to stretch out school since you're in Richmond til the spring anyway?" Um, WHAT? I mean, I can't even wrap my mind around this right now, I'm too tired. Just the thought of taking Organic makes my knees weak. Gotta be easier than Gratz. And I always wanted to take college physics. I really need to finish up this report. I'm sad at the lack of commenting, I know you're all busy but..come....on;)

Saturday: Went to Ali's soccer game (so cute) and was jealous watching them play;) Now I need to change and then head to Fredericksburg to watch Mandy's recital at 4 and Mike and Nicole's at 6...Then I'm going to hang out til Aaron and I head to Stafford to meet up with Pat and then we go to FX to meet up with Van THEN we're off to Mousetrap! Yay!
Sunday: I have to work at 7am and yes, I do realize it's insane to go out in DC the nite before...but whatever.

I have a headache. I'm a little worried about my sleeping habits of late. I can't fall asleep at nite to save my life. No, back up....At about 12 I'm like "Man I'm tired, I'll go to sleep" and then I lay there for hours! HOURS! It's always taken me a long time to fall asleep but I wish my body wouldn't act tired if it wasn't really. And then in the AM it's so hard to make myself get up. Then I end up sleeping in the afternoon. I do love the nite but it seems to be important to be awake during the day, haha.
I work tonite from 6-9 and then I *might* have plans but we'll see. Then tomorrow, Mandy's recital at 4 and Nicole and Mike's at 6....then it's off (hopefully) to Mousetrap where I plan to get free drinks and maybe even work on mine and Ray's money making idea, muhaha. Then, if I don't have to work early on Sunday I'm going home because I have laundry to do, I need to get my other Lifeguard suits, and I'm running out of food and definitely dont have money of my own to buy it. Man, my stupid old landlady needs to hurry the hell up with getting the deposit back because I owe people. It's been almost 2 weeks, get a move on, bitch.
I really like Van Gogh. I say this so randomly because here in the computer lab there is a print of "Lilacs" right above this computer. You know, When you see his work in person it has a lot of texture. It really adds to it and you can tell the man was nut-so...but awesome. Me, my mom and Ali waited in the snow from 5-7:30am the year his exhibit came to DC and it was totally worth it, I think Ali would disagree however, haha. I'm bringing back my "posters" of his work when I go home. In the gift shop they had a "damaged merchandise" bin with the prints for like $2, but nothing was wrong with them! Maybe just a tiny crease which brought the cost down significantly...so cool. My favorite one, well...You'll just have to come visit to see it:)

Let me tell you what being a Biology major means: Yesterday in Genetics Lab we worked with bacteria and plasmids and it stunk like death. The odor when the bottle of bacteria was opened was enough to knock a person over. We had to use glass rods to stir it up into solution but were the glass rods long enough? Nope! So part of our hand had to go in the bottle of death smelling bacteria-not pretty. Then, today in BioTech Lab we had our Forensic Entomology lab which actually was VERY exciting for me. We worked with maggots gotten from a rotting pig the lady's been using for her research, mmm. We were warned they would smell bad but noone told me it would be like having The Body Farm in the room! Ugh! Their advice, "Just take a big wiff and your senses will be dulled and it won't be so bad". Ummmm, thanks. It was a fun lab though just bc finally it wasn't micro, yay! And I did an awesome extraction of the mouth hooks, crop and spericles:)
Well, Since I turned my lab in today and had my Genetics test I'm pretty good to go for the rest of the week. I got a 23 out of 25 on my other lab report, awesome and my test today wasn't so bad I think I did well on 2 out of 3 mini quizzes and I got at least half on the last one.
Today, on Oprah, it's about "what to do in your life" and she said, "If you aren't sure what you want to do, DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW" so yeah, I'm about to head home to hopefully be told what direction to take in life, haha. I'll keep you posted:)

Man, I don't think anyone reads this anymore. Not even Covs;) Covs, are ya there? Makes me sad. I know Jules and I haven't been updating much but she's been busy and I 1) Don't have the internet at my disposal anymore and 2) have nothing exciting to report. Here, let me try to change that.

So, Robert and I have moved into the new apt and it's pretty cool, I like my room a lot and that's all that matters. I'm still in th emidst of unpacking but I need to get some shelves or drawers before I can be completly done bc I don't want a lot of crap sitting around. I can tell already that we're in a different part of town bc of the "night noises" such as the party that people were having Friday nite, "Don't break the alcohol!" and the band that I think practices nearby. I really enjoy it, makes me realize how old our previous neighbors were, ha. And it's cool being much closer to VCU, I've walked everyday....although I make up with my frequent trips to the computer lab=/ Bust.
I started my new job yesterday at Riverside Fitness and Wellness Center Briarwood (this is Scarlet speaking, how may I help you?) lifeguarding and it went well. I just sat there and watched people swim for about 5 hours, awesome. I'm still not sure how strict I'm supposed to be because I'm used to being Nazi Lifeguard during the summer and it's fun to yell at those kids...I guess I'll just observe the other guards. But I get the feeling some are pretty slack. I mean, I didn't even have to go to the meeting because she already knew I was responsible, ha. Rock and Roll...I work again Friday, yay!
So, my one "meet" on Friendster has fizzled I think. I wonder if he's gotten the link to this page, HI! Anyway, he seems to think that talking about hanging out means he's asked me in which case means I've said no. But that's so stupid because in situations like this, I think it is required to explicitly ask someone something, don't leave things ambigious and up in the air. And apparently my "excuses" aren't good enough or something like, "I'm in NoVa" or "I have a test tomorrow" because that (start sarcasm) obviously means I'm making things up. Whatever...I'm not going to introduce signs of something that's not true but I do think that I have been clear in what I *have* said. I don't know...or care to be honest.
I have a new addiction to iced coffee that must be fed, often. Yet I have no money. Oy. I might go in with pennies, I have no shame. I just need my iced coffee.

Going backwards as long as I can remember: 2100 Grove, 3019 Grove, MWC dorms (4 of them), Meadowbrooke in Bealeton (2 houses), Foxmeade in Bealeton, Remington, Sumerduck, White Oak?, Vienna, and before that I don't remember.

2. Which was your favorite and why?
My favorite would have to be...um...my Meadowbrooke house bc even though we've been there like 12 years I'm still not sick of it. And my room downstairs was SO cool. Mirrored ceilings, hehe.

3. Do you find moving house more exciting or stressful? Why? For just me to move it's exciting bc it's a new start and everything's clean to start out with. But if my family were to decided to move I think I'd move to Guam for a few months to miss it. I mean, 12 years of house is hard to pack up!

4. What's more important, location or price? Duh, they both are. And usually they're related. Such as, I could live in Oregon Hill 2 bedrooms for like $450 but do I want to live there? Not So Much.
