NY CONTINUED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday: So, like I was saying, I was super dizzy during the symphoney but I made it thru, then there was an intermission and the piano guys recital. During this time I scarfed down goldfish crackers and tried to get some energy. We went back on for our last piece and it was cool bc the audience clapped for us as we walked out=) Angelus went very well I think, the fortissimo's are very exciting in that piece and the Isaac Stern auditorium made them sound cooler. And thank goodness Jan didn't have to throw anything at the choir, haha. Oh and during intermission we got pictures taken with sexy maestro, mmm. One is classic of us all puckered up and his expression says "oh yeahhhh". I'm going to miss that dOOd, not as much as some people;)
After the concert there was a congregation of people outside of the side entrance so it was pretty cool to come out and see people you knew. My family couldn't make it bc 1) they both had to work and 2) the thought of my parents traveling to NYC is frightening....definitely not travelers by anything other than car. I stuck with Meaghan since she was one of the people I was staying with. She had a bunch of family members there and they were all very nice and fun. It was sort of sad that it seemed like everyone had someone there to see them, even though I know everyone did not. Anyway...
We went to an Irish pub/restaurant and Megs and I definitely scarfed down some much needed food. Eventually we made it back to our hotel and at about 1AM we walked down the block to Times Square to look at the lights. It was SO cool having a hotel right at Times Square, stuff was always going on, the rumors are true-the city doesn't sleep! harhar.
Thursday: We got up at 6AM....oh dear Lord. It was a struggle but we wanted to try to get on the Today show down at Rockefeller Center (just a few blocks over). To make a long story short we stood right by Lenny (the guy there every day) and got our pictures on the NBC webpage. We also saw Katie Couric and Matt Lauer in person, I guess that was sort of cool. Man, we did so much in two days thats it hard to remember the order. oh yeah...
We met Meaghean's parents at their hotel at 10AM and we went to the Metropolitan Musuem of Art down by Central Park. That's a HUGE musuem, unfortunately I was so exhausted I couldn't appreciate some of it, like the Tapestry exhibit bc the lights were so dim I was falling asleep as I walked, *struggle*. I got some good souvenirs and gifts there though. From there we went to Little Italy which is definitely on the other side of the city, haha, to meet her aunt, uncle and cousin for lunch. Little Italy is fun! I love how the restaurants have people trying to get you to eat there. our restaurant was really good and the guy doing their "advertising" was really cool. Anyway, from there we went to a Bakery and at this moment I got one of my much appreciated calls from the Jules-meister, hehe.
Then we split up and we headed to Ground Zero which is farther south. It was really weird there, I can't imagine having to walk past that every day. And it's hard to realize just how big the Twin Towers were, bc I had never seen them in person.
But yeah...then we kept walking south and ended up at Battery Park which is where you can see the Statue of Liberty from so I definitely broke out the zoom lens;)
THEN, we took a cab back to Midtown Manhattan (definitely cost us about $14, oops) and we went to Times Square to get our discounted Broadway tickets for Chicago-yay! That's the musical I've wanted to see for awhile so I am glad it worked out. I can't remember what we did between buying the ticket's and going to the show, oh yeah-I think that's when we went to go skating at Rockefeller Center. The most expensive and short ice skating experience ever. I was SO tired I didn't even care. We figred the price was worth it bc it's something that *has* to be done. I was impressed with my skating ability though, no time spent on the wall....or the ice.
Chicago was really good, I was super tired during it, of course. But I really like shows where the orchestra is visible, its more exciting that way. And it was fun to see "All That Jazz" bc I danced to that in a play once. One time at a summe rmini governor's school thing for musical theatre I lied and said I was in dance so I could be a choreographer with my friend. I mean, I had taken dance for like 8 years....but not for a few years by then. It all worked out though, anyway...
When we came out from the show...it was snowing!!!!!!! It was exciting but oh my gawd it was so effing cold! I thought I would freeze. And we had skirts on, brrr! We were trying to find a bar or pub to go to but 1) we were freezing and 2) we didn't know where to go so we pit stopped in a sort of ritzy cafe type place and I had dinner bc I was famished. Then we found a pub down the street which was pretty cool, there were a lot of young people there but they were all so engrossed in the stupid college basketball games, GROSS! GET A LIFE;) Wwe met this nice guy Trey who told us about living in the city and let me pick out a song on the electronic jukebox (Blur's Girls and Boys thank you:) We left before it came on though because as the theme of the week goes, we were So tired.
Friday: Ok, I don't know *WHY* we had to get up so freaking early, but we did....to check out of our hotel and put our luggage on the bus we would ride home later that day. And if I thought Thursday nite was cold then I was mistaken bc Friday morning was the coldest I have been in a long time. It didn't help that my hair was wet and I had no scarf, brrrr, I am cold just thinking about it.
We split up from Kristin and her parents, actually we didn't do anything with them the whole time. Meaghan and I took a cab to Central Park "The Mayflower pelase" haha and walked around there then went to the Hard Rock gift shop then the Carnegie Hall gift shop once it opened. Hahhaha, It's a funny thing though because Jules had asked got a Carnegie Hall shot glass if they had one but this gift shop was so dainty and small and the thought of them having a shot glass is SO funny.
Then we ate lunch at Hard Rock..haha, Hurricane's at 11:30-classic. Then we walked down Broadway while we decided what to do and it's a good thing we did bc we saw the Letterman studio, YAY!!!!! AND the Hello Deli, wohooooo! Then we took a cab to this musuem "I've never heard of that one" which turned out to be be ONE room and ONE piece, so weird. But it was right next to Grand Central Station so we experienced that. Then we went BACK to Rockefeller then instead of having a coherent plan onf travel we were spontaneous and went to Macy's which is a bit out of the way, haha. That place is ridiculous, So big. We tried on fancy dresses though:) This is the part that killed us: we decided to WALK 17 blocks back to Rockefeller Center to wait for the bus, oh Sweet Jesus. It was so rough, we had to take breaks so we wouldn't die. haha. But we made it and left NYC at 6PM headed to Baltimore.

So, that's it I guess. It was an awesome trip and I am glad I can finally say I've been to New York City, yay! Me, Julianne and Vanessa are going back this summer though, most definitely.

XXOO!
